Research Notes
Jacob's parents are given as Bryant Beaman and Mary Langdon in his marriage record. This record gives his birth as North Carolina and the marriage takes place in Iowa.[1]
Some confusion as to which of the many Mary Langdons it is.
The 1880 US Census lists a Jacob Beaman age 65, born around 1815 in North Carolina as married to a Rebecca Beaman, age 43, from Illinois.[2]
[Panora Vedette Newspaper 19 July 1917 p3c3] JAGGARD, Mrs Christian a missionary from the Congo spoke at Freedom Church. Her mother, Mrs MARSH of Decatur County was with her. Mrs MARSH was born in Panora in 1858. She was the youngest daughter of Jacob BEAMAN who died many years ago. East Cass Item.
