Samuel Bean was a Veteran of the Indian Wars, serving with great distinction with his brother, James as a scout. He served under the command of Captain Gilman and assisted in the search to find the three kidnapped daughters of his sister, Catherine when they were taken away to the Canadian Woods in 1710. (For more about this, see notes under his father-in-law: Ephraim Severence-31)
Records show that he sold three sections of land in 1716, and 1720; one section on the Oyster River, another a plot in Exeter, and one-eighth interest in the upper Petuckaway Sawmill in Exeter.
Samuel married Mary Severence, daughter of Ephriam Severance. She was born at Amesbury, Massachusetts. They were members of First Kingston Church. Mary died at Kingston in 1750. She was the mother of all of his children.
Samuel's last Will was dated 21 March 1737 and was executed on 31 May 1737. His youngest child [Sarah] was born 27 September 1731. The records show that this child was seven years old when Samuel died.
