Emmer Bean was born circa 1801, in Montgomery county, North Carolina, son of William Bean and his first wife (Rebecca?). Emmer married Sarah Saunders, who was born 1808 and died after 1880. Emmer and his father lived on the Randolph / Montgomery county line and alternatively gave their residence as one or the other. Emmer / Immer was the first postmaster of the township of Immer, N.C., which is no longer an existing community. Both Emmer and his father are buried in the cemetery of the Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church. [1]
