Benjamin Bean, Jr. was born in 1802, in St. Mary's county, Maryland, the son of Benjamin Bean and Elizabeth (Cox) Bean and died April 8, 1847, in Hancock, Washington county, Maryland. [1] On November 12, 1837, in Washington county, Maryland, Benjamin married Minerva Ressley. [2]
Benjamin's father was born in St. Mary's county, in 1757 and migrated to Washington county, in 1803. There, he owned and operated a Tavern, which served as a guest-house, in Hancock, Maryland. The house, which later became the "Barton House" and stage-coach inn, now houses the Hancock Historical Society. Benjamin inherited his father's business, when his father died in 1821, but Minerva lost it soon after Benjamin, Jr.'s death in 1847: [3]
Benjamin is buried in the cemetery of the Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, in Hancock, as is his wife and son, Charles Bean. [5] A recommendation to ling the spouse and child has been sent to the Find A Grave memorial manager. jg September 20, 2018
