AUGUSTA - Eleanore "Ellie" Beane, 93, died Friday, April 11, 2014, following a brief illness. She was born in Augusta on Oct. 24, 1920, the daughter of the late Judge Emery O. Beane Sr. and Sarah E. (Moody) Beane, Daughter of the American Revolution.
A graduate of Wheaton College, she had been employed by the State House for many years and previously had worked as the children's librarian at Lithgow Library.
Ms. Beane was a member of St. Mark Episcopal Church in Augusta.
Eleanore was predeceased by her beloved brother, Emery O. Beane Jr.
She is survived by her loving niece, Nancy Kolligian and her husband, Mark, of Franklin, Mass., and their children Bailey and Max. She will be dearly missed by family, friends and the greater Augusta community.
At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. Burial will be held in Hallowell Cemetery, Hallowell at a later date. (Kennebec Journal 4/14/2014) [1]
