In 1823, Isaiah's uncle and aunt, Isaiah B. and Hannah Beans, of Loudoun County, Virginia gifted Isaiah, son of William, 1 acre of land in Culpeper County, Virginia. In 1833 the acre would fall within the boundaries of Rappahannock County.
Isaiah is named as the son of William Beans in a 1837 Rappahannock County Chancery suit: Nichols v Beans. Isaiah gave a deposition in July 1838. He states he was working for his father, William Beans, as a blacksmith at his father's shops at Slate Mills in 1834/1835.
