Laura was born in 1870. Laura was the youngest child of Samuel Kennerly and Nancy Susannah (Wood) Bear and is listed with her parents on the 1880 Census.[1] Her father died when she was 14 so she went to live with an older sister, Mattie and John Smith at Tarkio, Missouri. Her mother was ill and was living with other children. Laura and Mattie both attended high school and college at Tarkio, Missouri. She married James Clifford "Cliff" Robinson on February 25, 1892 in Holt, Missouri.[2] After filing on the homestead in 1897, Clifford and Laura both taught school in Crook County and she is listed with her husband on the following census reports:
She passed away in 1931 at the age of 61 and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish, Lawrence County, South Dakota.[7]
