Not much is known about Nellie's mother, E.E. Farmer. The only record found that gives her name is her marriage to Frank Bear on March 20, 1871. There is a "Find-a-Grave" memorial for E.E. Bear that died on November 15, 1887 in Rich Hill. There is no picture or source that shows this is a reliable death date.
E.E. might have died before 1880 when Nellie is four years old and living with her uncle John Bear in Kansas. Her death certificate lists her mother as unknown which is not surprising since she was living with a relative a such an early age. On March 1, 1885 Nellie is nine years old and still living in Kansas and is counted in the household of a "Luke and Emily Asher" in Miami, Sugar Creek County, Kansas. More research is needed to determine the relationship between Nellie and the Asher family. There are no census records found for Frank Bear in 1870 and 1880. By 1891 Frank married again to Laura "Carrie" Moore in Linn County, Kansas.
Nellie married Linzey S. Wine on July 6, 1891 in Linn County, Kansas. Nellie is recorded as being eighteen and Linzey as twenty-one.

Minnie Wine, May Wine, Bessie Wine, Fred Earvey Wine, Frank Harvey Wine, Mydolian Arlene Wine, James Boyd Wine, and Grace Ethel Wine.
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Nellie by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Nellie:
Nellie Bear Wine is my great grandmother. I checked the relationship finder and did not find a relationship to you. I have some sources to add. I have also sent a Trusted List request. Curious to know how you are related to her? I would love to collaborate with a cousin on the Wine/Bear family.
