Biography
Mary "Mollie" Beard, daughter of Elijah and Rebecca Beard, was born between (1864 - 1869). Her marriage bond with 2nd husband Joel shows she was 27 years old, born about 1866 in Kentucky, at time of marriage. [1] The 1900 U.S. Census lists her age as 36, born May 1864 in Georgia. [2] The 1910 U.S. Census lists her age as 41, born about 1869 in Alabama. [3] The birth year inscribed on her tombstone is 1869. [4] Her death record shows birth date as 15 May 1869.[5]
She first married G.W. Beshear and had at least one son, Hardy.
She married J.W. Howton on 11 October 1893 in Webster County, Kentucky. It was the second marriage for both parties. He was a resident of Hopkins County and she lived in Webster County. [1]
She died 24 September 1944 in Evansville, Vanderburgh, Indiana and was buried at Beulah Cemetery, Beulah, Hopkins County, Kentucky. [5][4]
