Louis was born in 1895.[1] He was the son of Jack Beard and Margaret Draper. He passed away in 1951.[1]
In the 1910 census[2] Louis appears on a supplemental schedule covering the German General Protestant Orphans Home in Indianapolis. Also on the schedule are his half-brothers Ralph and Thomas Heininger, (from his mother's second marriage). Family stories tell that his mother was unable to care for the children after the death of her husband, Frank Heininger, and they were placed in the orphan's home. Margaret later married again, to Walter Curven. Stories differ as to what she did with her children after marrying again. There are later pictures with her together with the entire family.
