Colonel Charles Beardsley served in the United States Army in World War II Service started: Unit(s): Section 60 Site 3684; 12/16/1940, Ordnance Corps Service ended: 3/11/1946
Awarded the Croix de Guerre for "exceptional services during the liberation of France." Served overseas for 32 months during World War II, serving in Africa, Italy and France.[2]I have not been able to find the full record of Charles' military service. He filed an application for membership in the Sons of the American Revolution, dated June 1931, which stated that he had been a 2nd Lt. in the Ordnance Reserve from 1926-1929, and a 1st Lt. from 1929-1931. His BIRLS Death File [3] only lists his WWII service. John Beardsley
