Samuel is buried in Cutlers Farm Cemetery, Monroe, Fairfield, Connecticut [7]

His will is dated 22 December 1834 and recorded in Stratford. He mentions his wife Phebe, his children, Samuel B., Nancy Darling, Phebe M. Chichester, his grandsons, Silas Lewis, and Agur Beardsley, his granddaughter, Anna Maria Darling.[8]
