Abraham was the son of Abraham Beardsley and Esther Janes. He was born at Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut on 28 September 1726. Abraham's first marriage took place 21 October 1753 when he and Bethia Curtis (1730/1--1801) were wed. His second marriage took place about 1805 when he and Sarah Peck were wed. Abraham has been listed as the father of nine known children. He died testate at Stratford on 13 February 1815. [based on Holt] [2]
He served in the Revolutionary War. His last Will dated, 3 June, 1812, named his children and grandchildren; also “Chloe Glover, granddaughter of my resent wife, all linen etc., which had belonged to her grandmother.” He and Sarah Peck made an agreement before they were married, that they should not heir each others property, and both signed the agreement, witnessed by Mary Beardslee and Benjamin Judson. His will is dated 3 June 1812 and proved on 23 February 1815 in Stratford. He mentions his daughters, Mary Hubbell, Sarah Curtiss, and Jerusha Burr, his grandchildren, Francis, Sidney, Sarah, and Harriet, children of his son Ephraim, his grandchildren, Mary Lewis, Elizabeth Booth, Phebe Beardsley, Maria Beardsley, David, Josiah, and Ephraim Beardsley, children of his son Curtiss, Chloe Glover, granddaughter of his present wife, his daughter Betty, wife of Aaron Judson, his grandsons, George Beardsley and Charles Beardsley, sons of his son Ephraim, his son Abijah, and his son Abel.[7]
His inventory was completed on 21 April 1815 in Stratford.[8]
