DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. It normally takes 24 hours from adding a test, or adding a new ancestor, or ancestor’s descendant, for WikiTree to display your name and test results on your ancestors and their descendants’ profiles for potential cousins to compare results with.

I'm a great grandson of John Robert Edwards Sumner,son of (my 2nd great grandfather) Rev. John Henry Robertson Sumner and (my 2nd great grandmother) Antonetta Maria Edwards John Robert Edwards Sumner was my mother (Margaret Hope Blankenship's) mother's father. (my grand mother) Her name was Mary Beatrice Sumner and she married (my grandfather) Clarence Rufus Blankenship of Logan, West Virginia. She was the daughter of (my great grandfather) John Robert Edwards Sumner and (my great grandmother) Abbie Page Carew of Lowell, Mass.. Mary Beatrice Sumner and Clarence Rufus Blankenship had 6 children, William Carew Blankenship 20 Oct 1921 - 2 Nov 1999 Francis Sherwood Blankenship 29 Apr 1923 - 12 Feb 1990 John Robert Sumner Blankenship 12 Apr 1926 - 27 Feb 1994 Josephine Dodie Blankenship 1928 - 3 Nov 1931 Powell Arnold Blankenship 24 Apr 1933 - 25 Aug 2005 Margaret Hope Blankenship 17 Aug 1935 - 18 Jan 2012 (my mother)

John Bird Sumner, archbishop of Canterbury and (my 3rd great grandmother) Marianne Robertson. Marianne Robertson was the daughter of (my 4th great grandfather) Capt. George Robertson of the Royal Navy and (my 4th great grandmother) Ann Lewis of New York. Ann Lewis was the only daughter of (my 5th great grandfather) Francis Lewis, Signor Of The Declaration Of Independence and (my 5th great grandmother) Elizabeth Annesley of New York.

How's everything going? You might be finding duplicate profiles now. We have a Help Page to help you learn what to do with them. Be sure to check for your pending merges by going to FIND, PENDING MERGES, and sort for those waiting on you. Upon completing a merge, be sure to clean up/edit the Biography as ALL information from both profiles are copied and remove any duplicate info.

If you want updates on surnames you can add them by going to MY WIKITREE, NAV HOME PAGE, scroll down to just below WIKI GENEALOGY FEED to EDIT FOLLOWED SURNAMES. You can add up to 20.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those situations.

I am 53 years old my mother died 3 years ago in January and was attempting to trace our family genealogy. I decided to finish her quest.in the last few months I was able to trace her mother's side of the family to the Archbishop of Canterbury John Bird Sumner I would love to share.
