Biography

Isabella Beatie was born on 8 November 1830^[1][2] in Chilhowie, Smyth County, Virginia, the fourth of eight known children and the third of five daughters of Col. Robert and Paulina White Beatie.

On 3 January 1854, Elen Beatie, Bettie R. Beatie, and Isabella Beatie signed petition in re courts so that men won't have to travel on Sundays.

shows her as 29, single, living with parents and Fount at Seven Mile Ford, SMYTH, VA, USA^[3]

On 10 August 1864, when she was thirty-three, she married Minter Jackson. She bore him one child, a son whom they named Walter Beattie.

On 21 July 1880,^[4] when she was forty-nine, Isabella died of unknown causes in an unknown location.

Alternate death date: 21 October 1890.^[5]

She is buried in Westwood Memorial Gardens, Smyth County.^[6]
