Biography
Catherine was the daughter of old Angus Beaton and Isabel MacDonald. [1].
In 1801, she emigrated with her family from Lochaber, Scotland to Pictou, Nova Scotia, and from there to Little Judique. Her name is listed along with all the family members as passengers of the vessel 'Dove' which sailed from Fort William, Scotland to Pictou, in June, 1801.[2]
Catherine married Finlay MacDonald (Fionnlagh Mac Dhomhnaill Bhain) She and Finlay had a large family, Isabel, Mary, Sara, Catherine, Angus (died young), Flora, Anne, Donald, Janet (unmarried), and Sara.[3][1].
