Biography

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Christena “Tena” MacDougall . Surrounded by loved ones, Tena passed away on September 19th in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.^[1]

Tena was born in St. Rose, Nova Scotia on January 29th, 1939 and was a daughter of the late Bernie and Lila (Richardson) Beaton, and lived most of her life in Inverness. Her love for her family, relatives and friends goes beyond measures. Tina was a devoted member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness. She adored her grandchildren and always had time for a walk with her sisters, a good cup of tea and a bingo game. Tena’s kindness, sense of humor and gentle nature will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Tena is survived by her children, Al MacDonnell (Inverness ), Ron MacDonnell (St. Thomas, Ontario), Blaise (Paula) MacDonnell (St. Andrews); grandchildren, Cortney and Liam MacDonnell; brother, DanJoe (Sally) Beaton; sisters, Annie MacDonald and Mary LaPierre. Tena also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Blaise MacDonnell; her second husband Francis “Chalk” MacDougall; sons, Archie and Kevin MacDonnell; and brothers, John and Louis Beaton.

At this time we wish to extend special thanks to the Oncology Department and the caring staff at the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday September 24th at 11:00 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Father Joby Moonjely officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
