Murray Howard Beaton, 80, of Burlington Ontario passed away on November 17, 2021. Murray, son of Harold Malcom and Jean Isabelle Beaton of New Glasgow, loving husband of Marilyn Dorothy Beaton passed peacefully at the Tansley Woods Long Term Care Home. Predeceased by his parents Harold Malcom Beaton and Jean Isabelle (Mackinnon), sister Corrine MacKenzie and brother Wayne Beaton. Murray is survived by his adoring wife of 57 years, Marilyn and their three grown children Heather, Kirk and David. He was a wonderful father-in-law to Mike Marshall, Lisa Sherwood and Mary Lynn McVittie along with a caring and beloved grandfather to Samantha, Robin, Victoria, Paige, John, Alex and Matthew. Murray’s career spanned 3 decades at RBC and includes working in 4 different provinces across Canada. At his retirement in 1996 Murray was a systems Program Manager. Murray and Marilyn have always counted their RBC friends as family and enjoyed many vacations, golf games and dinner parties with ‘The GANG!" He loved his yearly 'Down Home' trips to visit Nova Scotia, and especially Corrine and Ron in Pugwash, and Wayne and Joyce in Chester. Murray and Marilyn enjoyed traveling. They loved visiting Marilyn’s brother Al in Muskoka and Florida and later their own timeshare in Hawaii which they shared with their children. Murray cherished his golf group who had weekly golf games and annual trips south of the border and to "Beaton's Point" in Parry Sound. Murray’s pride and joy proved to be his children and his seven grandchildren. Papa, or Grampy as he was affectionately called would happily play and teach his grandchildren at every visit. Murray and Marilyn shared an exceptional bond that one can only hope to find in their own lifetime. Murray’s absence will be greatly felt and we hope that our wonderful memories will help to fill the void. Murray suffered from Alzheimer's for his last 15+ years. The family is forever grateful to Acclaim Health for their professional and loving care of Murray. In the Spring of 2019 Murray moved into Tansley Woods in Burlington. Moving your loved one into a long term facility is an emotional event and the family/team at the Oakland floor of Tansley were amazing with the care and attention to Murray. This chapter came to a close on Nov 17th when the staff supported us with the "Walk of Honour" while Murray was being escorted from the residence. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Acclaim Health
