Biography

Angus was born in 1802. He was the son of Donald Beaton and Mary MacDonald. He passed away about 1886. ^[1]

THE CHARLOTTETOWN HERALD, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24, 1885 DEATH: BEATON - At East Point, on May 17th, Angus Beaton, in the 83rd year of his age, an old and deservedly regretted inhabitant of that place. May he rest in peace.

Wife Margaret in the 1881 Census. THE DAILY PATRIOT, FRIDAY, MARCH 8, 1889 DEATH: BEATON - At East Point, on February 28th, Margaret, relict of the late Angus Beaton, in the 81st year of her age. She was known to a large circle of friends and acquaintances for her many virtues as parent, friend and neighbor. May she rest in peace.

Daughter Ellen: THE DAILY PATRIOT, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 1899 DEATH: BEATON-MACDONALD - LOCAL AND OTHER ITEMS - OBITUARY - Died at South Lake, Lot 47, on Tuesday the 12th inst., Ellen, the beloved wife of Daniel J. McDonald, in the 45th year of her age. Her early death was caused by hemmorhage, which first attacked her about two years ago, and in spite of medical skill and good nursing, death claimed its victim. She was the youngest daughter of the late Angus Beaton, of East Point, and since coming to South Lake has by her industry and exceeding kindness won the respect and affection of all her acquaintances. The floral tributes were numerous and imposing, notably amongst them were those from Souris. Her funeral to St. Columba on the morning of the 13th, was large and respectable. She left her husband, one daughter, two sons, and the whole community to mourn their loss. – COM.
