- In the 1911 Scotland census, Thomas was age 12 living at Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland with his father Alexander Beattie (56?), mother Christina Beattie (43?), brother Alexander Beattie (16), sisters Christina Beattie (14), Josephine Beattie (11), Agnes Beattie (9)[3].
- Thomas married Sarah Russell Hendry in 1924 at Torphichen, West Lothian, Scotland[4]. It is not known if they had children.
- Thomas died in 1955 age 57 at Bathgate[5] and was buried at Boghead Cemetery, Bathgate[6].
