Anne Beauchamp, born on 14 February 1444 at Cardiff was the daughter and only child of Henry Beauchamp, Duke of Warwick and his wife, Cecily Neville. [1] Her father died on 11 June 1446 when Anne was 2 years old.[2][3]Anne was a very important heiress and her care was taken out of the hands of her mother and given to Alice, Duchess of Suffolk, lady in waiting to the Queen, Margaret of Anjou. Born Alice Chaucer, Alice had been married to Anne's great grandfather, Thomas Montagu. By this time she was, however, the wife of William de la Pole, Duke of Suffolk. It was intended that Anne should be married to Suffolk's son and heir, John de la Pole.[4]
Anne died at Ewelme in Oxfordshire on 3 January 1449, not then 5 years old.[5][6]she was buried in the church at Reading Abbey. [7]
