Lady Caroline Janetta Beauclerk (1804-1862) was the daughter of William Beauclerk, 8th Duke of St. Albans and the fourth of her parents' thirteen children. She was a great-great-great-grandchild of King Charles II by Charles's mistress Nell Gwyn.

In 1825, she married Arthur Algernon Capell, 6th Earl of Essex, and became the Countess of Essex. She had three children by Arthur before her death in 1862.
