Biography
Sarah Ann Beaumont was born in 1851 in Aldham, Suffolk, England to James Beaumont and Mary (Scopes) Beaumont. Her birth was registered in Cosford, Suffolk in the second quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Scopes.[1]
In 1851 Sarah Ann Beamont (age 1) lived in Aldham with her father James (40, Farm Labourer), mother Mary (42), and four siblings: Mary Ann (12, Scholar), Jane (10, Scholar), James (8), and John (5).[2]
In 1861 Sarah Ann Beaumont (age 18[10]) lived at Church Lane in Aldham with her father James (50, Stockman Labourer), mother Mary (56), brother John (15, Agricultural Labourer), nephew George Thos (1), and aunt Sarah Scopes (53).[3]
In 1871 Sarah Anne Steed (age 20) lived in Aldham with her husband Samuel (22, Agricultural Labourer) and daughter Ellen (0).[5]
In 1881 Sarah A Steed (age 29) lived in Aldham with her husband Samuel (31, Ag Lab) and five children: Ellen (10, Scholar), Thomas (6, Scholar), Kate J (4), George (3), and Ada (1).[6] Her son Daniel Steed (8, Scholar) was living with her parents.
Sarah's husband Samuel Steed passed away in 1883.
Sarah had a daughter out of wedlock: Agnes Jane Steed (1885-1886).
Sarah Ann Steed (age 35, daughter of James Beaumont) married Henry Farthing (age 44, son of Robert Farthing) on 2 Jan 1886 in Hadleigh, Suffolk.[7] The marriage was registered in Cosford in the first quarter of the year.[8]
In 1891 Sarah A Farthing (age 41) lived at Angel Square in Hadleigh with her husband Henry (51, Agricultural Labourer) and five children: Thomas Steed (16, Agricultural Labourer), George Steed (13, Agricultural Labourer), Ada Steed (11), Lizzie Farthing (3), and Lilly Farthing (0).[9]
In 1901 Sarah A Farthing (age 54) lived at George Street in Hadleigh with her husband Harry (63, General Agricultural Labourer) and two daughters: Lilly (10) and Edith (8).[10]
In 1911 Sarah Ann Farthing (age 64) lived in Hadleigh with her husband Henry (74, Farm Labourer Retired) and two daughters: Elizabeth (23, Domestic Servant) and Edith (18, Corset Factory Hand).[11]
Sarah's husband Henry Farthing passed away in 1915.
Sarah A Farthing passed away in 1928, aged 78 years. Her death was registered in Braintree, Essex in the second quarter of the year.[12]
