Biography

John was born on January 18, 1865. He was the son of John Beaver and Julia Bruce. He passed away on October 7, 1937, in Cherokee, North Carolina, at the age of 72, and was buried in Murphy, North Carolina.

Note: Clabe is buried at Notla Baptist Church, Cherokee County, North Carolina

His tombstone gives him a birth year of 1865 but every record I have ever seen puts it at 1870. Daddy said he had heard stories in the family that there was a great up roar in the family when he married because he would have only been 16 or 17 and she was 22. I guess they changed the date when then put up the new stone^[1]
