Biography

Altoona Mirror Nov 4, 1912, page 23 MARTIN L BECK dropped dead while working in the barn at his home in Warriors mark at 1:30 Saturday afternoon, death being due to apoplexy. Deceased was a son of David and Hettie Beck, both deceased, and was born in Warriors Mark Valley, April 24, 1847. he had resided in the vicinity all his life, and was a veteran of the Civil War being a member of Company B, Thirteenth Regiment, Pennsylvania Calvary. When a young man he was united in Marriage to Mary K Buck who survives with the following children: Mrs. W A Neff, Mrs P J Cox, Mrs R F nearhoof, Miss Grace, Clarence and Zada, all of Warriors Mark. he is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: miles Beck of Illinois, Lloyd Beck of Warriors Mark, Mrs. Spanogle of Philipsburg, Mrs Ellenberger of meringo. The funeral services will be held at his late home on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, services being conducted by Rev. Mr. Brouse of the Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member. internment in Warriors Mark Cemetery.
