Ella M. Beck was born 26 Oct 1860 in Ohio, USA to David S. Beck and Harriet VanVoorhes. Ella married Charles H. Beck in 1880 and they had two daughters: Gertrude May Beck Wildman (1881-1924) and Mary Rozell Beck Shackelford (1889-1981). Ella died on 5 May 1920 at 59 years of age in Garnett, Anderson County, Kansas, USA. Ella was buried at Garnet Cemetery in Garnett, Anderson County, Kansas, USA in Plot 2nd Addition, Block 4, lot 39, Grave 6. ^[1]

On 15 Jun 1870 at the time of the 1870 US Census, head of household David S. Beck (age 41, born in OH) was employed as a Farmer and living on property valued at $8,000 in Ohio with personal property valued at $886 with his wife, Hariet Beck (age 44, born in OH), daughter Ella M. Beck (age 9, born in OH), daughter Rosell Beck (age 8, born in OH), Farm Laborer Jacob Keister (age 23, born in Wurttemberg), Emaline Keister (age 25, born in OH), and Rachel Beck (age 81, born in NJ). ^[2]
