Biography

Lidia Ann Beck was born 21 Feb 1699 in Chestertown, Kent, Maryland to parents: Edward Beck and Ann Queeny. Edward and Ann were Quakers as handwritten minutes of U.S. Quaker Meeting Records, 1681-1994 reflect the births of each of their children as well as other parishners. John Ralls Sr. (John Shoemaker Ralls) came sailing into the area in 1718. He wooed Lidia and they married 28 Aug 1723 in New Castle, New Castle, Delaware, USA (in the Old Church). In 1724 the first two sons were born in Dumfries, Prince William, Virginia, USA. By 1725 they were living in Overwharton Parish, Stafford, Virginia, referred to as "Long Neck". Lidia's father Edward passed away, leaving most of his estate to sons. and to daughters: "personality" Lidia passed away 1765 in Kent, Maryland.
