RABUN COUNTY, GA - BIBLES - Family Bible of Samuel Beck. Notes: This Bible is in the possession of Mr. Thad Bynum of Clayton, Georgia. He rescued it from the old Bynum House before it was torn down. The Bible is dated 1817 and was printed by Mathew Carey, No. 121, Chesnut-Street. The family records are on separate pages which were sewn or tacked into the book. The whole thing is extremely fragile; the leather cover is mostly gone, as is everything after Psalm LXXVIII. Photocopies are impossible to make due to the condition of the book.
