Lisbeth Palme was a child psychologist by profession. She married Olof Palme June 9, 1956. They had three sons.
Lisbeth Palme was chairwoman of the Swedish UNICEF Committee 1986-1999, and worldwide chairwoman of UNICEF in 1990–91. She was a powerful advocate for children's rights and well-being. Lisbeth Palme was also a member of the Organisation of African Unity committee of investigation into the Rwandan genocide which reported its findings in 2000. She campaigned against the sexual exploitation of children.
Lisbeth Palme died 18 October 2018. She was 87 years old.
