Research Notes

Still trying to find the connect for John/Jno back to Germany. Here are some notes from my research. The issue is that John and his wife both died when several of their children were very young, including my great grandfather. For whatever reason, the history of this family was never discussed when I was growing up. The original steamer trunk he brought from Germany has sat in attics and basements of family members for years, until now, the writing is indecipherable. Lee-5956 17:56, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

His name and wife, Mary Rauch listed on his son's death record
  • May have arrived on 28 Aug 1840[18] There is another record for a man who can through New Orleans, but, I have run that one down and it is not my relative.
