I grew up with generalized vague stories of my mother's family's heritage, words like "Scottish Royalty" and Viking Kings, but no one could tell me any details. Once I had internet access I started researching the Clan Gunn, which is luckily pretty prominate (my highschool English teacher knew the name as Scottish) and over the years I have been able to gleam more details but I never knew the direct links. A few years ago my mother admitted my great aunts had mapped their tree back to 1630's with Dr. Jasper Gunn, the first of our line to live in America. I hadn't been able to go beyond Jasper's father Henry until I discovered this site and now I can trace the line back to Kings of Jutland. I thank you all for this and I hope by adding my information I help someone else.
