Biography

Cited as first husband of Anna Catharina Becker:
Sept. 27th: Christian HAUSS, widower, a carpenter, of Alten-Staeden, near Wetzler, duchy of Solm and Anna Catharina BECKER, widow of the late Johann BECKER, of Duernberg, near Dietz, commune Schaumburg.[1]

Johann Becker of Dörnberg possibly died while on board ship on the Surrey side of the Thames River at Blackheath, London, or on the journey to America or shortly after arrival at West Camp, New York. It is possible that he could be the same person as Johann Henrich Becker father of Anna Catharina who married Abraham Lauck.[2]

Henry Jones provides a speculative list of the children of Johann Becker and Anna Catherina as follows: 1) Johann Jacob, married Maria Elisabetha Laux 2) Ottilia, married Christian Bauch, Jr. 3) Anna Margaretha, married first Johannes Ingoldt and second Anthony Widmer 4) Maria 5) Magdalena and 6) Johannes.[3]

Hi Julia,

Why are you removing Johann as the first husband of Anna Catharina? Kocherthal clearly lists him as her first husband.

I think he should be reconnected.

place of death is uncertain.
