Johannes Becker was born about 1919 in Neu-Kano, Russia, to parents Johann Heinrich Becker, from Friedenberg, and Amalia Karlovna (Wiesner) Becker. He was one of nine children born to Heinrich and Amalia:
His father John Heinrich Becker was killed in 1937 at an undisclosed location in Russia. Johannes survived the purges of the Volga German villages that began in 1941, and was exiled a labor camp in Perm Territory, Urals, Russia. He remained there from 1942 to 1945. In 1958 he was allowed to leave for Kazakhstan. His mother Amalia Karlovna (Wiesner) Becker was sent to Kostanay, Kazakhstan. He returned to Germany in the 1990s and lived in Süßen until his death in 1999.
Johannes Becker married Emilia Deck. According to his son, Viktor Becker, his mother Emilia escaped from Krasna, in Odessa, and went back to Germany in 1944. Her joy at returning to her family's homeland was short-lived, however, because in 1945, upon Stalin's orders, the Germans returned her to the Soviet Union. Although she was told she could return to Odessa, she was instead sent to Perm, Ural. She met Johannes Becker there and the couple married. Son Viktor was born in Perm.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Johannes and Emila Becker moved back to Germany to Süßen, where they lived until their deaths.
Hello Julie, biography of Johannes Becker 1919-1999 is a mistake, instead of Regina Margarete Witmann, Amalia Karlovna Wiesner would be correct. Arbetslager 1942-1945, Perm Territory, Urals, Russia, 1958 was allowed to leave for Kazakhstan. In the homeland, on the Volga, houses of Volga Germans were entrenched by strangers. Mrs. Emilia Deck escaped from Krasna to Germany in 1944, but in 1945, on Stalin's orders, had to return to Russia. It was promised that everyone would come home to Odessa, but they were sent to Perm, Ural. Since John married in 1950, I was born there too. Now children of Johann Heinrich Becker 1886-1937-Katharina was born 1916 and still missing Amalia 1909 born. Georg Jakob Becker states that he moved to Friedenberg in 1826, but he was born in 1854. I thank you several times, probably I'll look for the parents of Johannes 1956, is difficult, but who's positive, I say. I've had a family tree from Family Deck, my mother, if anyone's interested, since helped me Dwigt Mildenberger of Canada, well-known researcher, unfortunately died in 1916, I also have connections with Nort Dakota, and with the home of Family Deck, Mothern, France. And of course I'm interested, how are you connected with Grimm? With best regards Viktor Becker.
