Richard Beckett was the fourth son of John Beckett and his wife, Mary Wilson. [1] He was born on the 18 of July 1782 and was baptised at St Peter in Leeds on the 22nd of the month. [2]
He joined the Second Regiment of Foot Guards, rising to the rank of Brigadier Major.[1]
Richard was killed at the Battle of Talavera on the 28th of July 1809. [1][3]
