Biography

Stephen Beckham, Sr. was born in 1710, in Essex county, Virginia, a son of William Beckham and Phillis Randolph.

Children of Stephen and his wife, Josephine include:

  • Stephen Beckham, born circa 1755, in Virginia, died after September 20, 1820, in Orange county, North Carolina, DAR Ancestor #A008347 [1]
  • William Beckham
  • Elsey Beckham who married John Watson
  • Jesse Beckham who married ? Robertson
  • Tabitha Beckham born 1760 who was married on 4 Aug 1778 in Butte Co, NC to Archibald Mitchell Brown
  • Susanna Beckham born 1763.

Stephen died in 1774, in Bute county, North Carolina. His Find A Grave memorial indicates that he died in Warren county, [2] however, Warren county was formed in 1779 from the northern half of Bute County. [3]
