In 1992 there appeared a Kentucky Bicentennial History report in a newspaper publication that spoke of "the intrepid Matriarch, Elizabeth (Grundy)"[5] The article mentioned that the Grundy family was the only family in Washington Country to have established five plantations. They were named: Glenannie; Valley Hill (established by Charles Grundy); Walker Heights; Oak Point (Samuel Grundy, Jr, designed by Lexingon, KY architect McMurtry); and Palmer Grundy and were built over a period of sixty-two years (the individual Grundy family member who owner or built them were not named within the article.)
