Research Notes

there is only one Joshua Beckham in the 1860 Census: "United States Census, 1860", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MHZH-4CQ : 14 December 2017), Joshua Beckham in entry for C Beckham, 1860. Maries County Missouri. This is probably correct, but the age in the census (16) would mean he was 18 when signing up, but the military records say age 23. He might have lied about his age, of course.
