Obituary

Raymond T. Beckmann, 96, formerly of Kiel, died Saturday morning March 4, 1995 at Chilton village, where he had resided the past seven years.

Raymond was born Feb 16, 1899, in the Town of Centerville, Manitowoc County, a son of the late Frederick and Pauline (Fischer) Beckmann. He graduated from Michigan State Auto School in 1916.

On Jan 21, 1921, he married Frieda Rosso. She preceded him in death on Jan 18, 1943. On May 29, 1948, he married Meta (Winkel) Thielke. She preceded him in death on nov 13, 1962.

Raymond along with his brother Roland, operated Beckmann Brothers garge for 40 years, retiring in 1966.

He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Kiel; servede on the church council and was a former choir member. He enjoyed fishing and gathering ginseng roots.

Raymond is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jeanette (Henry) Manis, Milwaukee; and Mrs Joyce (Ira) Ladyman, Haines City, FL; eight grandchildren, 17 great -grandchildren; and one brother Roland Beckmann, Kiel.

Step children; Mrs Evelyn (Henry) Weinberger, Mrs Elaine (Earl) Buswell, Mrs Gladys Allen, Mrs Carol(Werner) Werkmeister.

He is preceded in death by one son, Lincoln, one daughter, Marilyn, and one half brother, Walter Ebling.

Burial in Kiel Cemetery.
