Biography

Eliza was born in 1857. She was the daughter of Alexander Beckstead and Clarissa Gilson. She passed away in 1923.

"MRS. ORSON P. LEE PASSES AWAY

The community was called to mourn the loss of a lovable and energetic lady in the death of one of the oldest matrons of the town, Mrs. Eliza P. Lee, who passed away at her home Wednesday, June 6, of pneumonia. The husband and grandchildren were at her bedside when she passed away. She has been an ardent worker in the Relief Society and in any capacity she was called upon to labor. She was born April 10, 1857, a West Jordan where she spent her childhood. She married Orson P. Lee in 1877. To them were born five children, all of whom have passed to the great beyond, leaving the parents alone in their old age. She is survived by her husband, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral services were held in the North Ward church Sunday under the direction of Bishop Walter Lundgreen. Chorister Eli Lundgreen was in charge of the music. Special soloists were Mrs. Mildred Magleby, Mrs. Ora Hunt and Mrs. Christie Webb, assisted by the choir. The brier was laden with beautiful flower from the many friends Mrs. Lee has made in this community. The remains were followed to the cemetery by a long line of cars."
