Elizabeth was a daughter of Jonathan Beckwith. A lawsuit filed 9 June 1799 between Alexander Walker and Penelope his wife and Jennings Beckwith gives some information on Elizabeth: Sir Marmaduke, Elizabeth's grandfather, gave Elizabeth and her sister, Penelope "two negroes" by deed dated 4 June 1764. During their minority, their father, Jonathan took the negroes as guardian. Elizabeth married Thomas Jones and died in 1777 without issue.[1]
