Biography
Jean Baptiste Becquet was born on October 24, 1725 in Fort-des-Chartres, Louisiane, Nouvelle-France, son of Jean Baptiste Becquet and Catherine Barreau. He was baptized that same day at Sainte-Anne-de-Chartres Roman Catholic Church, his godparents were Antoine Boisseau and Marie Françoise ....vers.[1]
Jean Baptiste (36) married Marie Francoise Dodier (daughter of Ange Gabriel Dodier and Marie Francoise Millet) in April, 1762 at Sainte-Anne-de-Chartres. Together they had at least 3 children that we know of.
Jean Baptiste died in late October 1797 in St. Louis, Louisiane, Nueva España. He was laid to rest on the 31st, a Tuesday, at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.[2]
