The household included Calvin Beadle (BEDEL), 50, a farmer with $3750 in real estate and $1000 in personal estate; his wife Malinda, 50; their four children, all born in Indiana, Martin J., 23, a day laborer; Daniel, 20; Rhoda Ann, 17, a seamstress, and James W., 15. All the children were in school. Living nearby were several other Beadle/Bedel families. [4]
