Butlers Corps of Rangers during the American War as a non commissioned Officer…” Certificate of Ralfe Clench dated at Newark (Niagara-on-the-Lake) on 23 Aug 1797 attached to the Upper Canada Land Petition of Eden Beebe. “The Bearer Eden Beebe was a Sergt in Butlers late Rangers…”

"Joshua Beebe (b 1795), who married Dorothy Hare (the daughter of another Ranger, b 1798 d 1884). One of their sons was Horatio Nelson Beebe (1824 – 1892), a dentist in St Catharines. He married Susan Gould around 1849 and she died in 1852 about a year after their daughter Susan Adeline Beebe was born.

Aunt Marjorie seemed to think that Loretta Beebe took care of Susan, but Loretta was Susan’s half sister from her father’s second marriage and born in 1868 (when Susan would have been 17) so that caregiving isn’t possible unless there was another Loretta, who was Horatio’s sister. And according to the family tree, Susan Adeline had two siblings — Adin and Emma." [1]
