A Secondary Source is a genealogical reference created as the result of a extensive study of available source material and it provides some evidence of the source documentation used to generate the text data. A Tertiary Source is a genealogical data source which is collection of genealogical information which does not cite Primary or Secondary information sources, and the data may be factual or hearsay.

Research Notes

  • 1) Mary Beebe has been assigned to be the wife of the James Beebe of this profile because the New London Church records reference[1] lists this marriage immediately after the item recording the birth of the James Beebe, son of Benjamin, in this profile. Clarence Beebe ascribes Mary Beebe, in "MONOGRAPH, etc"[2] {profile (54) page 25} to be the first wife of James Beebe, son of Samuel and Elizabeth Beebe; whom was a cousin of the James of this profile just two years younger. This is incorrect as the New London Church records reference[1], citing the marriage of Mary to James, only lists the children of Benjamin, but does not list the children of Samuel and Elizabeth. However, there is a counter point to this argument, Clarence assigns a son to the marriage of James and Mary-- a Samuel who lived on Long Island. If this is correct and can be verified then it make more sense to assign the marriage to the other James (son of Samuel who lived on Long Island) as Clarence did.
