Oliver Becher was born in Bedfordshire, England.

• The name "BECHER" is pronounced "BEECHER" and often spelt that way by others. Other variations include BEACHER. However, the members of this family always [ & still do"] spell their surname as Becher e.g.in Wills and letters, so this is always the correct spelling.

• Oliver Becher was the eldest of 16 children born to Sir William Becher and his wife Elizabeth St John. He was named for his maternal grandfather and baptised at Bletsloe, Bedfordshire on the 31st December 1598.

• At Queens, Cambridge in 1615, son & heir of Sir William Becher of Howbury [ Cambridge University Alumni]
