Alice Kate Beer (married name Harrington) was born in 1879 in Collingwood, Victoria, Australia, daughter of Bridget (Ward) Beer and William John Beer.^{[citation needed]}

She married James Joseph Harrington in 1908 at St Joseph's Church in Collingwood.^[1] Their children were:

• Cecily Mary Harrington (1910–2002)
• John William Thomas Harrington (1912–1996)
• Alice Helena Harrington (1917–1936)

Alice died in 1949 in Fitzroy, Victoria, aged 70 years.^[2]
