He served in the US Navy during WW1 starting service on 27 Jun 1918.[4]
He applied for Seaman's Protection on 10 Sep 1919.[5] There are records of his arrival at the Port of New York on ship "The Gypsum King" on 5 Oct 1919[6], 2 Nov 1919[7], and 21 Nov 1919.[8]
He married Margaret D Latourette on 24 Nov 1921.[9][10] They had a son Ferris on 25 Mar 1925 that died at less than a month old on 16 Apr 1925.[11] They also had a daughter Elizabeth born in 1923, and a son Arthur born in 1928.[12]
In 1940, he lived as a lodger at Dongan Street in Staten Island NY, [13]and registered for the WW2 draft in 1942.[14]
He married Doris May Saberg around 1946. They had 3 sons: George (born 1954), John (born 1957), and Thomas (born 1959).
He passed away on 27 Mar 1959, [15]and is buried in Ocean View Cemetery in Staten Island NY.[16]
