Biography

Samuel Beers was born in 1791-1792 to John Beers and Esther Stuart in Berkshire, Massachusetts. Although the Find a Grave source lists a date of birth in 1785, the census records of 1850, 1855 and 1865, show 1791 or 1792 as his date of birth. In 1800, he lived in his parents' household in Stephentown, Rensselaer, New York.

Samuel's first wife was named Elizabeth. They had two sons, Nathan and Edmond. In 1830, there were six people in Samuel's household in Stephentown, Rensselaer, New York. [1] He was married to his second wife, Eleanor Holcomb, in about 1836. They lived in Stephentown. [2] [3] [4] [5]

Although the Find a Grave source lists Samuel's death as occurring in 1863, he appears in the 1865 census with his wife, Eleanor, in Stephentown. [6] Samuel died after 1865 and was buried in Root Cemetery in Stephentown, Rensselaer, New York. His wife, Eleanor (1788-1872), was buried in Presbyterian Cemetery in Stephentown, Rensselaer, New York. [7]
