John Beesley was born in about 1799 in Eccleston, Lancashire.

John married Sarah Bradshaw on 8 Sep 1823 at St Anne's Church in Liverpool, Lancashire. John was a watch maker, Sarah a spinster; both were of the local parish. The witnesses were Jas Unsworth and Thos Holden.

Their son Thomas Bradshaw Beesley was christened on 25 Dec 1823 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was recorded as watch maker, and the family's address as Prescot.

Their daughter Margaret Beesley was christened on 1 Jan 1827 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as watch maker, and the family's address as Prescot.

Their son John Beesley was christened on 28 Jul 1830 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was recorded as watch maker, and the family's address as Liverpool.

Their daughter Elizabeth Beesley was christened on 26 Dec 1832 at the church of St Peter in Liverpool, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as watchmaker, and the family's address as Scotland Road.

By March 30th 1851, they were in St Helens Road, Eccleston; John was a watch movement maker. His sons Thomas and John were watchmakers; his daughters Margaret and Elizabeth were servants. The youngest child, Sarah, was still in school.
