Biography

William was a Friend (Quaker)

William was born in 1721. William is the child of Richard Beeson and Charity Grubb. From Quaker Minutes - William Beeson son of Richard & Charity Beeson was Born on the 18th day of the 11 month 1721 OS 30 of 9th mo 1722 [1]

Upon the death of Edward Beeson, Sr., his son Richard and wife Charity and family moved to Nottingham and assumed management of Edward's holdings there. Richard and Charity became active members of Nottingham Monthly Meeting of Friends. They appear to both become recognized ministers. Richard and Charity (Grubb) Beeson and family lived at Nottingham until ca. 1732, when they moved to the new Friends settlement in the Susquehanna Valley in Lancaster County, PA and became members of Leacock Friends Meeting.

It was here that their daughter, Charity Beeson, married Mordecai Mendenhall early in 1735. By 1736 the Beeson family was on the move again, this time to Berkeley County, near the present town of Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Here the Beeson clan lived until ca. 1754, when many of them left northern Virginia for North Carolina, settling in the area of present-day Guilford County, helping establish Center Friends Meeting, which became one of the larger Meetings in the North Carolina Piedmont.

Purchased from George Robinson and John Peteate, 1,650 acres lying on Tuscarorror Branch in what is now Berkeley County, West Virginia, 2 miles west of Martinsburg. On the property was the Providence Meeting House. [2]

Beeson-2055 and Beeson-27 appear to represent the same person because: duplicate created with no sources. looks like birthplace is using findagrave location.

Are you sure of William's birthplace? It doesn't seem consistent with the narrative here or with his father's history.

Your comment appears to be correct, William's birthplace is most probably Chester County,Pennslvania

Profile lists 10 children, but there are 17 listed as separate profiles. Amassa is listed as both male and female, same birth date, different death dates. The children need cleaning up, merging, and sources.
